br other equivalent amount. And in any other British Colonies or De-pendencies for sums not less than one pound or the equivalent there- Lof or any multiple of one pound or of its equivalent. And provided that all such Notes shell bear date at the place of issue and such Notes as shall be issued at such Banks or Branch Banks as aforesaid in any of our Colonial Possessions Settlements or Dependencies shall be made payable in coin of tur United Kingdom or other coin lawfully turrent in the places from which they shall be issued and shall be payable to the bearer on demand and when made and issued at and from Any Branch Bank or Establishment not being the principal Establish- ment at the seat of Government of any of our Colonial Possessions the same Notes or Bills shall be made payable as well at the princi- *pal Banking Establishment of the said Company in the Colony or Settlement within which such Notes or Bills shall be made and issued Es at the particular Bank or Establishment at and from which the same Shall be made and issued as aforesaid. Provided also that it shall be lawful for the said Company if it shall be thought fit to issue Notes as aforesaid in the Island of Hongkong for the payment of ster- Lling money of Great Britain so that no such Notes be there issued for any other sum than one pound sterling or some multiple of one pound. Provided also that it shall rot be lawful for the said Company to issue Promissory Notes payable to bearer on demand in any of our Colonies Settlements or Dependencies in which the exclusive power bf issuing such Notes has been or may be reserved to the Government thereof or to Cormissioners appointed for that purpose unless with the previous sanction of the Commissioners of our Treasury,Provided Also and we do hereby declare that there shall always be kept in re- Eserve by the head or Branch Bank in each of our Colonies Settlements
